AND – it even gets better because it NOW includes a provision for those current homeowners to be able to buy (either to upsize or downsize as needed!) A quick look:  NEW Homebuyers (someone that has not owned a residence for the last 3 years) that purchase during the November 2009-April 2010 can still receive up to the $8000 tax credit; CURRENT Homeowners (anyone who has lived in a residence for 5 of the last 8 years) is ALSO able to receive a tax credit up to $6500.

As Realtors, we have opportunities to voice our concerns with laws and sometimes that can be listened to by those in office – in this case, the lawmakers acknowledged the “help” the tax credit was making for our industry BUT we wanted to get more people included for the tax credit.  We pushed and pushed and the change to add current homeowners to the plan is certainly proof that if you talk loud enough (or long enough) eventually someone is going to listen.

So what are you waiting for??  There is NO EXCUSE – it is the time to buy a home and I’m here to help you find the right place for you to call home!  IRS states over 1.4 million people applied for tax credit this past filing season – that doesn’t include the balance of those who purchased after the tax filing date and who would still be under this past credit scenario.  Let’s make your move happen now…and get in on the tax credit to help you.

I am including some of the information made available through the National Association of Realtors so that you can read details of the NEW HOMEBUYER CREDIT to determine if NOW IS THE TIME TO BUY FOR YOU:
