Not all Lenders are Created Equally…
Sure, a majority of our client’s who come to us to buy a house already have a lender they are working with, but in some cases – buyers have not decided which lender could work the best for them. As Realtors working multiple clients and deals at a time, we can get a idea of what lenders work hard to get the deals done, or perhaps – what lender likes to work within a certain “comfort zone” of their own niche. While we are happy to provide the names of lenders to any client who would ask – it is NOT because of any affiliate agreement or potential receipt of any fee that we would or could provide that information. Our clients provide us with feedback for those services they use and based on the satisfaction of those clients – we recommend lenders we have been able to use and COMPLETE deals when using their services.
Carrington Mortgage Services was one of those referrals to meet from another “trusted” vendor – and we are so HAPPY to have met Holly Matthews as their loan officer. Immediately I was impressed with her zeal to get in and see what she could do to help with clients looking to buy, she stated quickly – that if she did not know the answer, she would work hard to find out and that includes if she could not work with a particular client, she would offer suggestions to get them ready for when the time was right, or even offer another source to get it done. WE LOVE THAT OUTSIDE OF THE BOX THINKING!

He is a dedicated person who began his service in the military (NAVY), after returning to civilian life he trained and works as an Occupational Therapist and since joining our office as a Realtor in 2015 – he has now added a designation of Senior Resource Specialist. Next Best Thing, Self Serve Dog Washing!
Okay, okay, maybe not the next best thing and maybe not even new for most people, but it sure is new to me! Since moving back to the Dayton area I have had the hardest time finding a new groomer for my pampered pooches. From being wildly expensive to just down right dirty. A few weeks ago I took a trip to my local pet store Pet Valu to buy my black lab Baylee diapers, she is an old lady and needs those sort of things (Oh what fun!). The whole store was recently remodeled and they added a self serve dog wash! This may not be exciting to some but when you have a 75 lb walking ball of fur that is bound and determined to clog your bathtub drain this is a game changer (see her picture? Isn’t she cute?).
I was so intrigued by this, coming from Jacksonville, NC there was nothing like this. I can bring my dog and wash her in someone else’s tub and they clean up after me? Yes please! This particular store offers everything you need for your washing needs, a big tub with steps, removable sprayer, towels, apron,shampoo,conditioner, blow dryer, and my favorite the FURminator . All of this for only $10. When speaking to a few of the local groomers and getting price quotes some wanted as much as $60 just for a wash. I love the idea of these self serve dog washes, it is a great money saving opportunity and is totally worth not having to clean my drain out. I hope to see more of these pop up in our great community.

Board President Announces Electronic Lockbox Decision
UPDATE: In an unprecedented move – the Board of Directors had a motion to put this to Membership Vote AFTER being approved. The general membership discounted the Task Force / Board Approval and VOTED DOWN ELECTRONIC LOCK BOXES. Sadly, this may well be a dead issue for our area irregardless of the better technology and benefits for our clients.
