Tammy’s “About Me”

Tammy’s “About Me” : I grew up in Dayton, attended the Dayton Public Schools and Graduated Patterson Cooperative High School.  I began my own graphics presentation company out of high school and know what it takes for a business to be successful.  My career in real estate began while I lived away in Arizona, but it was inevitable that I would return “home” to the Dayton area.  I have now worked in real estate since 2001 and I truly enjoy the opportunities (and challenges) that are a part of the real estate markets.

I live in Centerville with my sons, who attend the local schools and keep me very busy with school / sport functions!  Connor, my youngest son, plays on the Wee Elks Black Squad, using his energy for the “good of the team” and looks forward to the day he can charge on the field at CHS.  Kenneth, my middle son, is an awesome baseball player who has served as a Sports Ambassador for USA and played in 2009 at the International Games in Austria, being undefeated and winning GOLD, and he looks forward to further developing those skills for a career in baseball.  Edmund, my oldest son, served in the Army, 10th Mountain Division in Fort Drum, NY and served two tours in Afghanistan and is proud to be a part of the military.  While my sons are certainly the biggest accomplishment in my life, it is a never ending job…like real estate – and yet both are so completely rewarding that it is – “what I do.”

In my “spare time” I enjoy traveling, playing cards, reading, outdoor activities, golf, baseball and football, seeing and doing different things to experience the local communities (festivals, etc.)   I am a member of the Blue Star Mom’s and help support our military serving abroad and the families here at home.  My friends would say I am a “caring and giving person who does what it takes to make things happen.”  That’s me – I don’t look for excuses on why things can’t get done; but rather see the opportunities to make all things possible.  In that same expression, it is not “my purpose” that is being served but “the others” (client, higher good, or whatever purpose may be at hand.)

Currently, I am seeking a position with the Dayton Area Board of Realtors as a member of the Board of Directors.  I feel that this is a position I am qualified to participate, as my vast business experience combined with my real estate service, are vital to the role I see being held as a Board of Director.  I am asking for the votes necessary to ensure my place serving the Board, so that I can represent the growing number of Realtors who want to be heard about current issues facing our industry.  THANK YOU for those who supported me during this campaign…I look forward to serving your interests and business needs while assisting our local Board of Realtors as a Director.

I am just as excited to be Certified by the National Association of REALTORS as a Trainer for Expanding Housing Opportunities and Employer Assisted Housing.  This is a project that I personally have become involved with in developing a neighborhood stabilization plan that is comprehensive and takes into consideration all the aspects that make our Dayton neighborhoods unique.  As the City of Dayton has often been in the spotlight, I want to be a part of the rebuilding so that the focus can remain strong for our housing markets and affordable living is something that everyone has an opportunity to pursue.  In working with non-profit organizations, lenders, title companies and other dedicated Realtors, buyers / sellers / renters and investors – we CAN all help to make a difference.
