Dementia – not just Alzheimers

Alzheimers and Dementia are greatly confused and misunderstood by people.  I have often been asked by families: What is the difference between Dementia and Alzheimers; What are the stages of Alzheimers; Is there a cure?  While I am not a doctor, nor do I intend to give medical advice – I do work with individuals who are diagnosed with these conditions – and more importantly, my interaction with the family members has given me a perspective to share.

Alzheimers is the likely diagnosis that people receive – and there are a number of stages as to the illness and effects.  In early stages it may appear to be just a mental lapse or forgotten details.  It is difficult as a family member to see these changes take place and when compounded with a potential health risk for someone living independently – the reality of a move is sometimes daunting. My personal experiences as an Occupational Therapist Assistant now combined with being a professional REALTOR, Senior Real Estate Specialist, all helps to ensure my compassionate service to assist you and your loved ones in making the right real estate and potential living arrangements.

With so many choices for lenders out there – you may often wonder, what’s the difference?  We like to let our client’s know that sometimes it is a matter of personalities, but often times – you want to compare rates and closing costs to ensure you are getting the best deal possible.  Other times – it is just knowing that the lender is IN IT with YOU and willing to make the process work, or take the extra time you might need to get the financing, or to help answer questions or so many other pieces of the puzzle that may need to “fit” to get your into the home “loan” for your budget.

I love when a lender is available to take calls, responds to emails, when they are PROACTIVE in working together and when they find the “right program” to fit our client’s needs!

Introducing… “Front of the Line”

I have officially opened Consulting Services to assist those Senior housing needs you may have, in addition to real estate services.  These are vetted professional providers that I have personally met with and / or worked with in my occupational therapy and real estate services and I am happy to pass along their contact information for your consideration.

Senior Living is a Growing Industry and Need!

So much focus is being shifted to the “senior needs” as more people are entering their GOLDEN YEARS and need to have a change in living accommodations.  What we often find, people either are WELL PLANNED for this venture – or completely SURPRISED by what all is involved with their new life change!!  We want to help you in whatever ways possible… including to pass along helpful information with housing that fit the needs of Senior Living.

As recently reported in the Dayton Business Journal by Tristan Navera:

Graceworks Lutheran Services is proposing an expansion to its Bethany Village property.

The expansive 100-acre senior living community in Centerville plans two projects at its main complex at 6451 Far Hills Ave., city officials say. Plans call for the company to demolish a 47,000-square-foot skilled nursing center wing in the Linden House. In its place would be a new 74 unit, 90,000-square-foot three-story assisted living facility. This would replace the west wing of the Linden House — and mean a net increase of 49 assisted living units.
