There are a few things to keep in mind when buying a home to keep you in good terms with real estate agents. Agents work on commission therefore they are very motivated to do a good job for you. Be considerate, be on time for appointments. They are very busy and are not only working for you, they will have other clients. If not, it’s not a good sign. Make sure to find an agent that you trust! Interview agents until you find the one you are most comfortable with. Let them know that you are in the interviewing stage. Do not call a listing agent if you are working with a buying agent. Let your agent do this, they know what to say and have had much more practice and training. At this point you are serious about buying or you wouldn’t have sought out an agent. Get preapproved to help the process and bring your checkbook if you are going to a house you are serious about! And lastly, good luck with everything.

If you have not yet been here you should plan a visit! This was the original home of the Wright family and has welcomed many other luminaries including Charles Lindbergh, Henry Ford, and Thomas Edison. The tour of both will begin at Carillon Historical Park in Dayton then bring you to Hawthorn Hill in Oakwood via shuttle van. There is much history to see between these two places!

There are many different personalities and characters out there. The same goes for those in real estate. When looking for someone to help sell your home or help you find the right home it is important to trust them. There will be a lot of information given to them and they will be with you until the end of your buying or selling experience. They are there to make it as smooth as possible for you. There are many homes that realtors know of that are not advertised, they will find these for you if they fit your interests. The realtor is there to be the cushion between clients. They are experienced negotiators. They are also an extra set of eyes that can help point out potential problems with a house that is on the top of your list. To find the right realtor for you make sure to get referrals and check references. Make sure that you will see all properties with them and not only ones that will make them the most money. Interview the agents that you are most interested in. Always be sure to use common sense and be skeptical. You will find the right agent for you!

Breweries are EVERYWHERE in Ohio! I wanted to take a small trip with part of my little family (My boyfriend and dog) and we decided to go to Columbus. The first night we are staying at BrewDog’s DogHouse Hotel and Brewery! I am so excited to tour this brewery and the 6,000 sq ft craft beer museum that is inside! There are many other breweries around, if you are trying to find one near you click the OHIO BREWERIES image below.

Given the month it is we should not only BE thankful, but we should SHOW IT! I would like to thank veteran’s for everything they do and go through. I don’t know any veterans personally, but I did come across this article and it gave me many ways to show my gratitude anyway. I am not in the position to help in some of these ways, but I can write a check! I also love to shop, so I plan on finding a veteran-owned business in the near future! If you are able to help in any way it will not go unappreciated! #ThankfulThursday

The Staley Mill Farm and the Indian Creek Distillery are truly an American legacy, and indeed one of those things that makes our community a great place to live! Missy is the 6th generation to own and operate the farm and distillery. We had a fabulous time learning about the history of the complex, and even got to watch them making their legendary whiskey! They treated us like family…
To quote Missy, “Always the mavericks (we come by it honestly), we have never allowed the norm to keep us from doing what we believe in… we will continue to push the boundaries, be authentic to our own unique point of view, never tire and refuse to act our age.” We wish them the best for the next 200 years!
If you want to buy any of their spirits, stop by the distillery, you will leave inspired! You can also book a tour, or rent out their facility for a gathering or party! For more info go here: http://www.staleymillfarmanddistillery.com or stop by the Indian Creek Distillery, 7095 Staley Road, New Carlisle, Ohio 45344.
