Five Days of Celebration – Ohio Chautauqua!

Mark your calendars now – and save the dates for July 21 – 25 because the “traveling tent show” is coming to Centerville / Washington Township.  We are one of five communities selected to host this tour and all events are FREE.  Evening activities start at 6:30 PM and include musical entertainment with live shows starting at 7:30 PM/  If you are a history buff – this is a great way to learn a little more about our local history and those famous people from long ago.  Additional activities will be held during the day at Washington – Centerville Public Libraries.  And for baseball lovers – there’s going to be a “vintage” baseball game on Saturday, July 25 starting at 3 PM…none other than Abraham Lincoln will be throwing out the first pitch!  Come on out and have some fun!!

Troy Strawberry Festival

Another year and another festival – this one with the emphasis on “strawberries!”  This year’s festival is planned for June 6 and 7, 2009 and is worth packing up the family to head out and spend the day. Not only will your sweet tooth be thrilled, but you are likely to find unusual or new twists to the Strawberry favorites! Don’t forget the booths of crafts as well as food dishes…we’ll probably see you there. Check out their Site for more information CLICK HERE.

Design-A-Rama Time!

Sunday, September 14th from Noon to 5 PM.

Here’s another “fun” event that is upcoming for those who like to tour homes and see about potential properties… located at Springboro Station in Clearcreek Township (Springboro School System.)  A total of 12 homes will be available for the tour along with Food, Refreshments and Prizes.  CLICK HERE for site.

If you’ve been thinking of building a “new home” then this is one thing that should be on your list!  ASK ME about their latest promotion for NEW OFFERS that gets you Three Months NO Mortgage Payments!  I’ll be out at the properties as well so we can go together or meet up there – just let me know.

Happy 4th of July!

One of my favorite holidays – especially when it falls on a Friday!! Centerville hosts the Americana Parade – celebrating now for 30 years. It is a great chance to get out and see the kids and friends and neighbors line up along Franklin Street for the parade. Afterwards, the main streets remain blocked so that the festivities can be enjoyed: crafts, vendor booths, food, a car show, a kids area and the Artists at Benham’s Grove are all things you can experience. See you out there!  A Special Thank You to those serving or who have served in the Military and who have shared in bringing us all the joy of FREEDOM.

Sculpture Walk

The streets of Downtown are a bit more entertaining – as you drive through or if you get a chance to walk the area, you may be surprised by the Sculptures spread throughout our city (especially if you missed them last year!) J. Seward Johnson, Jr. has provided us with 20 pieces of art that are sure to please everyone! My kids and I love to try and find the new ones and see which ones we’ve missed (I often end up taking several trips through the downtown area just to see if we can find more.) CLICK HERE for the link that provides even more information – and remember, be careful as you drive – but enjoy the ART! Limited time for viewing: May 16 – August 15, 2008.
